District 63 Meeting Minutes
January 29, 2011
At the home of Bob’s home in Huntington Beach
Minutes respectfully submitted: Kim LeBouton, secretary
Meeting began at about 9:10 am with Serenity Prayer
Introductions: DR, ADR, Secretary, GR’s – 12; and Alateen Liaison for a total of 16 in attendance
Readings:
Traditions – Joe (Al-Anon Alateen Service Manual 2010-2013)
Daily Reader – Gwyn (One Day at a Time)
Concept 2 – Randi (Al-Anon Alateen Service Manual 2010-2013)
7th Tradition: Judy passed the basket - $48 Collected.
Reports:
Secretary: Kim read 10- 16-2010.
Motion to approve minutes put forth by Sarah & Lisa seconded. Unanimous approval.
Treasurer: Judy read the report.
Motion to raise SCAC support for Alateen Liaison to $140 put forth by Lisa & Judy seconded. Unanimous approval.
Hospitality: List passed for 4/30/2011. Will continue pattern of house swaps for 2011: 4/30 Randi; 7/23 for Bob; 10/29 for Randi.
Alternate District Rep: Elaine provided an overview of the SOS Meeting (1-15-2011). Four trustees from Virginia Beach attended and discussed their individual contributions. A trustee attends four meetings a year and has been a member of Al-Anon for at least five to seven years. A trustee commits to five to eight hours of volunteer work per week. Michelle also provided her insights and was very impressed. Knowledge Based Decision Making was also discussed.
Alateen Liaison: Jim discussed SCAC 2011 (7-8-2011 to 7-10-2011). Click here for registration details. Info on attending SCAC as an adult was discussed. All adults pay, including guests.

Intergroup WS Liaison: Not present
Business:
Reach out to different meetings without a GR in District 63: Bob and Elaine got together. Detailed documents provided.
How to collect SCAC Money New Rules for District 63: KBDM was used to arrive at the following decision outside of a motion. Our district has discussed that we want Alateen Liaison to accept money. Reporting of donations will be discussed at April 2011 meeting.
Alateen Workshop: Survey Questions. Tentative date-June 4th (now changed to May 14th) Looking for location. Still fine tuning topic.
Motion $225 of General Fund will be used to support Alateen Workshop put forth by Lisa & Cathy seconded. Unanimous approval.
